A piece of steel. does the job.
I replaced two locking plates that only had two screws each with this one that both locked with nine screws. I used 4" screws from a hardware store as the reviews here suggested they might not be very good quality. (although mine looked fine). I also replaced the hinge screws on my door with over 4" screws because they only used 3/4" screws, which was a joke. If you purchase this panel to reinforce your door, please also replace the hinge screws, otherwise the frame will fail and the entire door will be knocked out if force is applied.
