I've been putting screen protectors on phones and tablets for many, many years and in that time I've learned a few tricks for the perfect application (which I'll share in this review) every time without leaving bubbles or dust particles. I was a little nervous about applying something similar to a much, much larger area: the window! PROS: Inexpensive at $9. That's about half the cost of other products I've reviewed. Fairly easy to use, but for a large scope, two people are highly recommended. The instruction manual is easy to understand if you have had a similar experience of applying screen protectors to mobile devices - Adheres very well and can be removed and reapplied - Protects privacy very well (you will only see a person's shadow when you are close enough are to the window) - Waterproof. I applied this to a bathroom window. CONS - Can be difficult to apply for someone who may not be experienced. Tips - I always pack everything I need before I start: tape, spray bottle with soapy water (regular water works too), bowl of water, large scraper - I always make sure the place is VERY clean first. All windows are closed, the dust has settled as much as possible, next to the film there is nothing sticky/dusty. Wipe the window as well as possible with a microfiber cloth, making sure no dust particles remain on it. If so, use tape to remove them. Measure your window size and subtract about 2mm (0.08 inch) from all sides to allow the film to expand in the closed area (it can stretch slightly at high temperatures) - Cut the film to size - Then I usually wash my hands with soap first, then wet hands, especially fingertips. Spray windows generously with water/soapy water. Do not allow any part to dry - re-wet fingertips and apply film (top to bottom first) to the glass SMOOTH side - this will make it easier to slide the film over the window while the glass is still damp/soapy. Dry, spray with plenty of water - After the film is positioned where you want it, remove the clear backing - Use a squeegee to slowly squeeze air bubbles out to the edges - Look for dust particles or areas with large bubble spots. If you see one, use masking tape to lift that part of the film. Adhesive tape to remove dust particles from the splice. Repeat the squeegee/tape method until the film is fully applied and you find dust particles or large bubbles around. If you see tiny bubbles don't worry, they will disappear after 24 hours - Let the film sit for a day and the film should now stick well to the glass - If you find dust particles afterwards you can try to lift them off the film tape again and use another piece of tape to remove the dust, but this can be quite tricky. Always try to remove any bumps within the first few minutes of applying the film while the glass is still damp/soapy. What helped a lot was using a sharp razor and ruler to make clean cuts. Hope these tips help! I was lucky enough to see that my film adheres well to the glass, there are no dust particles at all (but I had to lift a corner to remove the extra bubble).
