Great price from a trusted brand

I have had multiple fuel pump failures on my 2004 Audi A4. Each time this happened, the mechanics replaced it with a factory VDO unit. After three breakdowns this time I decided to fix it myself but used this Bosch pump instead. This pump is an exact replacement for the VDO unit. It was half the price of a VDO made by the manufacturer that has most other car components (Bosch) and appears to deliver higher fuel pressure than a VDO pump. It's also quieter than a VDO pump (at least in my opinion). A few tips -1. When you replace the fuel pump, you also replace the filter! If the pump fails, there's a good chance the filter is also full of crap, which could result in the pump failing in the first place. 2. I highly recommend getting a fuel pump wrench to ensure you can properly remove and insert the pump into the pump housing basket. It's possible without a key, but I don't recommend it because you risk damaging either the pump or the basket. If anyone wants to buy this key from me I might want to sell mine as I don't plan on having a career replacing Audi fuel pumps :-) 3. Buy and use fuel hose clamp pliers http://www.amazon .com/gp/product/B00PB7UJWQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00. One of the mechanics who worked on my car in the past used the wrong pliers. when I removed one of my fuel hoses and I managed to snap the connector which gave me a lot of headaches (literally - a fuel leak IN the car!). These pliers are inexpensive and save you the hassle of replacing the fuel line as using the wrong tool to remove the fuel line from the pump body can easily break the connector. It's been 3 weeks and so far this new pump is working great. and the car ran much better! Very happy with this purchase.
