From freshly grated cheese to the perfect cucumber salad, this attachment will do wonders. I don't know why it took my wife so long to buy it. But if she's happy, I'm happy too. Reliable, easy to use, fairly safe, grinds cheese quickly and well. No, we are looking for food in our kitchen for cutting. French fries, carrots, zucchini to name a few. This attachment fits just as well as any other KitchenAid attachment. The blades are dishwasher safe but the body is not. It would be nice if everything could be cleaned in the dishwasher. Otherwise I would definitely buy this item again if needed. (or to give away)
