This took a little practice. Scoop the coffee into the bottom cup and tap it until the coffee is even with the rim, then close the top. Important: Keep the lid closed until the end of the process, otherwise the coffee will spill over the entire counter. Then simply pour the coffee into the reusable K-cup through the hole in the top and press the coffee firmly, first with the top part with the hole, then turn it over and press firmly. This only takes a few seconds and ensures that the lid of the reusable K-Cup can penetrate the coffee and seal tightly. If you don't, you may have trouble closing the coffee maker. I have a Bunn MyCafe that I insert a K-Cup holder into, and if I don't close the K-Cup tightly, it becomes difficult to insert the holder into the machine. This tool is exactly what you need to get it done quickly, easily and efficiently.
