Found the ram mounts a few years ago and love them. I just bought a few more pieces so my review is copy and paste from my updated review of a previous purchase. RAM mounts are still the best mounts I've found. I can't find anything better. A very simple design brilliantly executed. I've never been happy with other options like suction cups or double sided tape. All will fail one day. Then I discovered Ram Mounts a few years ago. I made my first purchase and couldn't be happier. Over the years I have purchased several 1 inch camera mount balls for various uses. My most recent use was mounting a 6 inch cell phone on a 2012 Camry dashboard for Pandora/Google Maps. I wanted something reliable and adjustable but easy to remove. Ram fits. For this setup I used the following products (I'll provide links at the end): Frame mount, 1 "Ball with 1/4" 20 male threaded studs for cameras. Composite Short Bracket with Double Socket for 1 Inch Ball Universal Vastar Smartphone Tripod Adapter Part 3/4 Inch Plastic Phone and Fax Sleeve Luckily my Camry has most of the trim on the dashboard. All of this is very easy to remove. I removed the casing and separated the clock from it. Marked the holes for the 2" x 1.7" Ram mounting plate. I attached the base plate with black screws to blend in with everything else. I also clamped a small piece of black rubber. Shelf liner to avoid potential creaking. While the dash is fairly flat, there's very little flex where I installed it. A 1" camera ball mount attaches to the top of the Vastar Universal Smartphone Tripod Adapter, a short composite RAM arm ties everything together. I also drilled another hole in the clock bezel to route the USB cable through the dash behind the radio. I used a 3/4 inch phone/fax case to finish it off and give it a professional look. I am very satisfied with the result. I don't want to leave it in the car. The only thing left is a mounting plate that bolts to the dashboard and a USB cable. I think the car should have something like that. It's close to eye level but doesn't block my view.
