The carafe is very fragile.
Bought as a gift for friends. While cleaning the carafe, my friend nearly brushed the edge of the leg against the sink and broke off a piece, causing a hole in it. I'm not sure if this can be fixed (probably not). Surprised that my friend's carafe broke so easily. Be careful with yours.
