Review on 💻 NETGEAR FA311 PCI Ethernet Interface Card: High-Speed 10/100Mbps Connectivity by Jack Ngo

We have always trusted Netgear for quality products at a reasonable price. So when we needed a network card, Netgear was the natural choice. The FA311 model was selected as the best choice for the system. We googled the FA311 and Revain, found them cheap and ordered them – we trusted Netgear without hesitation. No longer! The first problem was that there was no shrink wrap on the box or a seal on the box. But then it got interesting. The anti-static bag seal is broken. Hmmm. The description of the goods said "New". Okay, if it works we'd keep it. After installing the card in the PCI slot, we noticed that the cable didn't fit. No other cable we've tried has such a reassuring click. Okay, maybe some duct tape will hold it in place. But there was NO green light - ever! Not even a flash! We removed the card for testing and found that it has a notch that prevents the cable from staying in the connector. Physically and electrically it was a defective device! We called the seller and asked for an exchange hoping the replacement unit would work fine. They said they didn't have another one in stock but would refund us - but we had to pay for the return postage by sending the item via the method that provided the tracking number. While it was clearly not our fault that the product was defective, if we wanted a refund we would have had to pay the shipping costs which amounted to half the purchase price. We are so fed up with the supplier DATAVISION that we will not return the item, we will not ask for a refund, we will never do business with them again! The product was presented as new and was clearly not new. The product was defective and all they could offer was to pay them for the refund. If we return the card and ask for a refund, I wouldn't be surprised if they turned around and sold it to some other gullible, clueless idiot who would return it and give another person a chance to scam them. That smells like a bat! Back to FA311 - after deciding Datavision wasn't the place to buy we went back and searched Revain again and this time found a listing with reviews! If these reviews were included with all FA311 offerings, we would never have purchased this item. After reading the reviews on Revain.com and other online reviews, we have come to the conclusion that we will never trust Netgear again. If after reading the reviews you decide you still want to buy the FA311, buy it from [.]. for $19.99 plus shipping. You can rest assured that you are receiving a sealed item from a manufacturer and you can exchange it if the card is found to be defective. So who let you down here? Datavision - For the sale of defective, used equipment as new and for the lack of stock items to replace the defective ones. I suspect they were fully aware that the card we received was not new and would never work. 2. Revain - for not adding reviews to every FA3113 entry. Netgear - The card we received seems to be the wrong design. I think we should share the blame. our homework.Moral?.As always let the buyer pay attention!
