Suitable for cavemen

I bought it when you had to buy a separate app for faster Internet access because the mainboard didn't have one. I still remember when I first moved into the wild wilderness of technology in 2001 at the ripe old age of 19 and decided I needed to up my internet game. I called and ordered broadband and they said I need to order a network card first if I don't already have one. I DID NOT DO IT! The internet worked on my computer from day one and kept working and working. I don't even know where…

Reboot problems with FIC AD-11 MB

I installed this card in a FIC AD-11 motherboard and the system does not warm boot on Win98 or Linux (Kernel 2.4.3 from Mandrake 8.0). Pressing Reset will reboot the system and the software installation will resume from where it left off without any issues. There is an FAQ on the Netgear site that says the solution to this problem (IRQ conflict) is to switch the card to other PCI slots. The combinations I've tried so far don't work.

Pros
  • Very good value

Good price, easy to install and works

My title sums it up for me. I am very happy with the card. I installed it on my Windows 98 2nd Edition computer in about 10 minutes. I had no problems with that. As for price, when was the last time you got EVERYTHING for your computer [for so little money]? Did it work?

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • Useless features

What a cheek for computer components

We have always trusted Netgear for quality products at a reasonable price. So when we needed a network card, Netgear was the natural choice. The FA311 model was selected as the best choice for the system. We googled the FA311 and Revain, found them cheap and ordered them – we trusted Netgear without hesitation. No longer! The first problem was that there was no shrink wrap on the box or a seal on the box. But then it got interesting. The anti-static bag seal is broken. Hmmm. The description of…

Ideal home network card

When it came time to build my home LAN with four computers, I decided I needed a fast card that would be easy to install and run on all my computers, regardless of operating system configure is worked. The tar card is perfect! I have it on all four machines and it works perfectly whether you're using Windows NT/98/ME or Linux. The only thing I want to say is that to work on Linux you need to know how to install kernel modules, but most NICs are like that unless Linux already has built-in…

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • I'm worried
