The Epson Perfection scanner connects to the display's USB peripheral port. The USB cable from the ADC adapter connects to the USB peripheral port on the back of the KVM switch. With this setting, the switch will function normally. There were no serious problems. Usually a sleeping computer wakes up when the KVM switch switches to it, but sometimes you need to press the Shift (or other) key. The scanner is successfully detected when someone uses a KVM switch to switch a USB peripheral port from one computer to another. As for the dual G5 fan switching to high speed sometimes, I had this issue with my dual G5 before I bought the switch. I don't think the switch made the problem worse. Sometimes the computer loses its keyboard/mouse connection, but this problem also sometimes occurred before I added the switch. I don't use the audio ports on the KVM switch as they are analog mini jacks which tend to pick up hum and other noise. Too bad they don't have optical ports.
