Tiny, easy to install and works like a champ.

I bought this unit because of the 1920x1200 resolution, DVI and audio inputs and 4 ports. The device exceeded my expectations. This device is tiny! Less than 11 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It's about the size of a 3-hole table punch or a household aerosol can. KVM cables and power connect at the rear, and the console connects at the front. But the device is solid. The case is metal, not plastic, unlike some of the cheaper KVMs. You can put different things on it. I connected it to a computer

Update required to add USB 2.0 speed to get five stars

I have two KVM IO Gear GCS1764 connected to three desktops and one laptop, two monitors, mouse and keyboard. These are Asus x2 do-it-yourself computers, Tyan do-it-yourself computers and an HP laptop. Monitors - HP LP2465 x2 with built-in USB hubs. Keyboard is Microsoft KB4000 and mouse is Logitech MX300. KVMs look good, are solid, and are reliable. In my experience, IOGear's warranty and customer support are excellent: a device broke during a move, and IOGear offered to service it up to three…

Ease of installation. Intuitive operation

The IOGear Miniview DVI 4-Port USB KVMP Switch was easy to install and ready to use. I use it with a Dell 27" 1920x1200 monitor, a Dell XPS Gen 2 desktop and a Dell XPS M1710 laptop through a docking station. It also uses a Microsoft USB Natural Keyboard Pro with internet access, volume, play/pause, calculator, etc. and a Dell USB mouse. Switching computers and peripherals takes a second or two, but it doesn't bother me. All the extra keys on my keyboard work fine. If you start the computer…

Almost perfect for external components

IoGear 4-port DVI KVM switch meets my need for just one console for 3 Macintosh computers and an HDTV tuner. It works very well, with some very minor annoyances: 1: It takes about a second to toggle. Not for long, but not immediately. 2: When the monitor is sleeping or off, there is a slight "flickering" in the first 30 seconds. This only happens when it goes through the KVM switch. 3: When I boot one of the Macs, I need to switch KVM to that Mac, otherwise the Mac will not recognize that my…

Functional though. for external components

I bought an Iogear 4 port DVI switch to use with 3 Macs and a PC. I was thrilled to be able to use all of my DVI based computers with my beautiful 20 inch Apple display. Unfortunately, due to a stupid decision by Iogear, the Switch doesn't work the way we'd like. want it. If you have DVI connections, the display sends a special ID to the computer so the computer knows exactly what it's connected to. That's cool, and it's a standard feature of DVI displays. "Inactive" computers is NOT the ID of…

Great product, but you might run into this easy-to-fix problem.

I have a Dell Dimension 4550, a QuickSilver 2002 PowerMac G4, and a PowerMac G5 Quad. I really like this product. I love that it comes with all the cables you need while some of the more expensive units don't. I had to dig around to find out and what it adds to their roughly $100 cost. four sets of cables separately There was one big problem: when turning on the Dell Dimension 4550, the keyboard lagged heavily or sometimes spat out 20 copies of the last character, no matter what computer I was…

Exactly what I expected

This is a great looking DVI kvm. The front panel buttons allow you to quickly switch the image to one of the four inputs. If you also want to switch USB, just press and hold the button on the item you want. It's a good help to be able to quickly switch between videos to check the status of something. The output image quality is also very good, no complaints (I have 1600x1200). The supplied cables are of good quality and work perfectly. Three computers are currently connected to it. MacBook Pro…
