Review on Bluelab BLU8000 Grower's Toolbox Pen with Conductivity Tester and Probe Care Kit - Easy Calibration TDS and pH Meter for Hydroponic System and Indoor Plant Grow – Durable Plastic Construction by Raymond Iglesias

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great kit for beginners, everything you need to get started.

The packaging wasn't the best, it came with a PH adjuster I ordered and the kit that came with it was thrown in a big box. with bottles and had minimal packaging around it. Do not order anything together to ensure it arrives safe and sound. So far I've had it for a month and have done maybe 50 rehearsals. I was told to calibrate it (with a tick) only a few times after receiving it. It was strange that I calibrated it with PH7 and then PH 4 as stated, but after calibrating with PH4 it showed the tick again so I had to calibrate it with PH7 to make the tick go away. I'm glad it's a great set for a beginner like me. bring a small book on hydroponics in general and what PH is. The instructions are very informative and the instructions are very easy to understand. One thing I don't like is the cap string on the PH meter, it's quite awkward to hold the cap and meter while mixing solutions, but I somehow figured it out by slipping my index finger through the loop at the top and the cap led my palm. The manuals are very clear about letting the bulb dry, throwing it away, this is a great kit. Individual testers cost twice as much, I bought this kit for $147. after long shopping.

Pros
  • Dual connection probe lasts longer than standard probes and is more accurate than similar pens, test strips, drops and more; Different conductivity units available (TDS, EC, PPM and CF)
Cons
  • I will add later
