When the burner was first set up the unit was locked in the 'on' position. It turns off after the cycle is complete. The device now waits until I press the power button before booting up. To check the filter it took a lot of trouble to lower the spout, the instructions only indicate where it is, nothing about how to open it to replace. There is very little detail in the guide, but the basic information is there. There is a lot of limestone in my water, so a significant amount of sediment remained after the first entry into the reservoir. I hope this block does the job. I will make sure to clean it well after each use.
