I have long, thin, naturally blonde hair with a slight wave. This curling iron is suitable for my long hair (almost to the bra strap). I have to curl little strands, but that's okay. This curler doesn't curl close to the scalp, I use it to add from 2/3 to 1/2 waves to the bottom of my hair. Best of all, it curls the ends of the hair LAST, while a traditional curling iron curls the ends of the hair first. The ends of my hair are the most damaged, so this curler ensures that the ends receive the least amount of heat. This makes the tips less fluffy and dry, which makes me very happy. The design of this curling iron is better than some others I've tried because my hair doesn't get caught or tangled in it. For this reason, curlers with completely closed cylinders do not suit me. The only thing I could think of to improve on these curlers is a larger capacity so I can curl more hair at once (compared to the smaller 1 inch sections). But overall I'm very satisfied.
