Review on Support Heavy Split Charge Relay by Andre Belitz

I used one of these for my glow plug system on my truck, the system was only supposed to draw about 75 amps but the relay overheated and burned the contacts after a few months. I went to the 120 amp version which burned out in 5 months. They don't seem able to handle large continuous amp cycles. I took apart a 100A unit that failed a few months ago and a 120A unit that failed last week and found that they are exactly the same internally. I measured the copper plate and belt with a calibrated vernier caliper and found that they were exactly the same size to within thousandths of an inch. Don't buy them if you need them for something important that you need to rely on.
