Economical, but not necessarily good. Small dots are a bit dry, they don't write smoothly, and the colors don't transfer well to paper. The thick side (brush) usually starts off well, but soon develops fluff on the tip. The ink bleeds easily across the page, but it's difficult to stay in the lines while inking unless the fluff is trimmed away. This happens with most of the pens in this set. I bought this set to color in "adult marker coloring books" and they didn't work for the purpose. Disappointing. At the same time, the children I work with found them an interesting difference from the usual. They were very fond of "painting” with them. They gave them lots of colors and more control than regular brushes. They were a bit disappointed with the subtleties but soon ignored them in favor of the brush. For that alone I give these markers three stars.
