Drill holes 37Β° (vertical 0Β°) in soft heart-shaped cedar

The edges of the holes were fairly smooth, the bottom was flat. They are intended for use in a drill press. The midpoint is useless beyond 10 or 12 degrees from vertical; moreover, the hole starts at the edge and thus centering on the pit or pencil mark is difficult or impossible. While it's possible on a drill press, it's impossible to do with a hand drill where the bit "walks" at least a little. If you need a clean hole, you should drill them at the recommended speeds (chart attached), which is fast. That is, depending on the size of the drill and the hardness of the shank, from 900 to 2400 rpm. Like I said, a drill.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
