This product, although it looks good, has a major design flaw. The lack of a status LED makes it very inconvenient to check what went wrong when there are connectivity and performance issues. For example, if the speed is below average, is it because the ethernet is connected to 2.5GbE from the switch/router, or is it a USB or driver issue? If you have no connection at all, is it your PC/laptop or this adapter or cable or even a router? I hate it when engineers and manufacturers try to save a few cents by taking shortcuts like this. Not to mention the status of the LEDs, although this product includes a Win driver, it is already outdated and you need to get the latest version from Realtek, otherwise you may get a very asymmetric speed. Even with the latest driver, this adapter is consistently slower than my other adapter that uses the same Realtek chipset, and it has LED indicators. It costs a few euros more, but it's worth it. Edit 06/21/2021 This adapter gets very warm. Of the three different adapters, this one is the longest and runs at the highest temperature.
