This square string is the best string I have ever used and I have been using a weed wacker for close to half a century. I cut anywhere and everywhere on our 46 acres. This includes drive and sidewalk edging, around trees, trails through the woods and cattails along two 120 foot boardwalks. grape vines and small trees included. My first loading of my Stihl trimmer lasted me for two months and two days. This, to me, is incredible as I went through many hours of operation and tanks of gas in that time. Excellent product and value. I am very puzzled by the negative reviews. It could be the brand of grass trimmer or the way the string is installed. I do tend to keep my string in water when not in use. (The water makes this nylon stronger and the it also feeds better.) Also some reviewers mentioned trouble getting string off 5 pound spool. You feed from the outside just inside the black mesh not the inside. Bend the string tightly and push it on the cutter blade (just the opposite of how you would think of using the cutter.) In fact I had put my cutter into recycling as and had to go retrieve it and reattach it to the spool after reading a tip on a review. I hope you enjoy this string as much as I do. It is also way less expensive than Stihl string at my local store.
