They are thinner. They are not sharp enough to use the sides like a razor for thin hair. I bought a sharpening stone so I'm sure if I sharpen them properly they will work like razors on either side too. Slam it didn't work. I'm giving no stars because they look like razorbacks but without the functionality of razorbacks. After sharpening I sanded down the coating and they only damage the hair and skin on the hair when closed and don't go through. They're sharp enough to cut, and now they're even sharper. They look like very expensive scissors for a small price, but they don't smudge, they just end up with split ends. I have other purple kite scissors and am very happy with them. I'm tired of tidying up bad hair with kitchen scissors and sewing scissors. Now I comb my family myself and save us all from sorrow. You come with a case. They cut their hair well. However, they do not mix or dilute anything. Decorative notches and a body are not worth this price to me personally. Good Purple Dragon scissors, and even better ones, look simple and cost between $18 and $27. For the extra money you get a case and a featureless design. But yes, they will still get used to cutting their hair because now they are very sharp! They look nice, but that doesn't bother me at all. Even at $30 they are good scissors that load better than many other brands. I'm embarrassed to hold on to a star, but if you don't mix thin hair, you shouldn't look good. It was deceptive to fake it. (Not that I've ever spent hundreds of dollars on actual Razorbacks or anything.) But you still get more than you pay for with them, which is why I'm torn about holding a star. If you just want some cool looking scissors, jump on it anyway.
