I have installed this rod in two of our bathrooms, both showers have ceramic and porcelain walls. They look incredibly strong. I made sure I had the studs behind the flagstone, so I screwed them into the solid wood (I didn't use the hollow wall anchors that came with this shelf). One of the two shelf rails has now been in use for over a year and is just as reliable as on day one. Having a shelf with a rail is probably its biggest selling point. It's nice to have a very reliable bar that has the added benefit of being able to hold four extra large bottles of shampoo and conditioner, plus a large bottle of Dove shower soap with a dispenser.
