I have an old laptop that is being used in the basement. This laptop doesn't have built in bluetooth and I got this adapter to play music from my network on my bluetooth speaker system. It only took a few minutes to open the small package to listen to music through Bluetooth speakers. The adapter itself was plug-and-play — Windows 10 recognized it right away, and all I had to do was go into the Bluetooth settings, pair the speakers, and that's it. The sound is ok - I'm listening to digitally compressed files. So I don't expect my $100 Bluetooth speakers playing MP3s to sound like a real amp playing thousands of dollars plus speakers. I also used an adapter to pair with headphones and the audio is the same as if you were listening through an iPhone. price decision.
