The door almost doesn't open. The latch is easy to manipulate, but the spring on the door is very stiff, making it difficult to lift from the locked position. I hope it loosens up a bit with use. The space I need to fill is 56 inches which means that if I use all the extensions I won't be able to use the turnbuckles because the gate will be pushed against the wall. If I take from the shortest extension, the bolts pull out the furthest before they reach the correct tension. I had to order extension washers to get middle spacing for the gate to fit properly. The gate looks really good and seems very strong to be, but it would be better if it came with an additional smaller extension or at least slightly longer bolts to accommodate different widths. The nuts could also be bigger and stronger, they're just plastic.
