The door almost doesn't open. The latch is easy to manipulate, but the spring on the door is very stiff, making it difficult to lift from the locked position. I hope it loosens up a bit with use. The space I need to fill is 56 inches which means that if I use all the extensions I won't be able to use the turnbuckles because the gate will be pushed against the wall. We have a very wide door for which we were looking for a baby gate. We found this one and went to install it and ran into some issues with how to position the gate. The entrance to the gate had to be completely on one side and all other metallic gate connections had to be connected on the other side. Because of this, the gate became very unstable when pressed. Okay, this looks like the fourth baby gate we've tried. UPS employee tired of picking up baby gates. We're using this gate with a small extension but have kept the rest in case we need to move it to the wider part of our hallway where our entrance is.
