Cheap, flimsy and broke within a week. Do not buy.

I would give 0 stars if I could. We spent weeks looking for a gate to match our 60 inch French door between the living room and dining room. We chose this gate because it is well finished and also aesthetically beautiful. Didn't pass us and weeks, and he already broke. Let's start with the fact that the design of these gates is not conducive to working in wide doorways. It is advertised to fit doors up to 60 inches. Our doorway is 60 inches, but it feels wobbly with the extensions. The pins connecting the extensions to the gate and the gate to the door frame are extremely weak and do not allow these gates to remain strong. Even after a few adjustments, it still wobbles a bit, but if you overtighten it, the whole block will flex. Wooden gates are also inexpensive. Not what one would hope for if the gate cost close to $100. Last night was the last straw for us. We were trying to deal with the sagging and general wobbling of the gate, but while my husband was walking through the gate and trying to close it, the block of wood under the gate's lock hit his leg (not even that hard) and split the wood like balsa. above and below, forming two sharp fragments. Not what you want when you have a 9 month old pulling himself up on a gate. Even if you have big dogs, forget it. This gate will not contain them. We have a pit bull and two lab mixes, and they all found that if you shake the lock enough, it just pops open. All in all, don't waste your money on this junk. We have learned our lesson and we will build our own gates so we know they are well built.
