Little dogs tear these up

So I have a love hate relationship with these screens. I've tried three different versions of this screen. I have to admit the original version is the best.So the main problem with this version for me are that the magnets maybe too strong. They are actually stronger than the Velcro and the tacks that hold the screen to your door frame. So there have actual been occasions of my overly eager Doberman running out and taking the screen with him.Next thing is compared to the polyester version this heavy duty version is harder to see thru. For pet owners this is no problem but for my pup he'll regularly stick his head out the bottom to get a better view of the yard.Again I'll go back to the super strong magnets. When barbequing with this version it's hard to push through with the tray in your hand. So the magnets work great for holding the heavy material closed but maybe a little too well. They also easily stick to my backyard door since it's what I thought was aluminum with a wood core but at the rate magnets stick to it must be a sheet metal.Keep in mind this screen is thick enough to hold most of your A/C in as I notice very little air passing thru this very thick, right mesh. So as long as there are no holes bugs are easily kept out.Overall I've purchased 4 of these because my miniature inevitably scratches wholes in the bottom portion when he is signaling to my kids his wishes to come back inside. It definitely works well enough for me to purchase it again. I'm easily able to leave my back door completely open allowing my larger dobe easy access to the back yard.

Pros
  • Saves money on pest control products
Cons
  • The mesh may not be completely insect-proof, allowing tiny bugs to still enter
