UPDATE: The seller refunded us the purchase price. So I changed my 2 star rating to 3 stars first. I'm glad they wanted to fix it. I was asked to remove the review, which I will not do. If they send me a product that actually works the way I wanted it to, I would happily pay for it and write a positive review. After she left, we tried again. The shorter coat didn't matter. We bought this product for our one year old Havanese kitten. She weighs about 12 pounds and she's not exactly an annoying badass. She barks loudly when she hears an unfamiliar noise, often in the middle of the night. I'm not sure if this collar will work the way we want it to. The build quality is good, it doesn't seem to bother you when wearing it. Out of 7 sensitivity settings I had to set her to 6 for her to ever pick up her bark as it sounds higher pitched than many dogs. The problem is that he picks up a lot of other sounds and her barking is only heard 1 out of 3 times. So she beeps several times a day and only 1:3 when she actually barks. For the price I wasn't expecting much which is good as it doesn't work very well. We followed the installation instructions. She's got a haircut tomorrow so we're going to try shorter hair and see how it works.
