I love wine but like many others I get terrible migraines. American red wines (and countries like Australia and Chile that are happily sold in American markets) are aged in oak casks, giving them an oak flavor and extra sulphites, which is why. California Pinot Noir is particularly bad! European reds (French, Greek or Italian) don't age with extra oak so they don't bother me, but finding good wine in my area isn't always easy. We've moved from the city to the country (not even an entire liquor store 137 miles away!) so I found these filters in Revain! (When you live in the country there are compromises, but Revain is your lifeline!) In the summer, we like to sip margaritas with tequila. The regular brand we use sold out so I tried Jose Cuevro, a special silver. However, after 1 margarita I had a severe migraine. I read online how it's made (because it doesn't say anything on the label) and it turns out this tequila was aged in oak barrels for 12 months - phew! Instead of throwing the bottle away I decided to filter it and it worked like clockwork! Thanks to Ullo, I can now enjoy sulfite-free wine and tequila! And by the way, I also filter liquids through a funnel, I don't need the expensive one sold with this product.
