Effective but not cheap.

The box arrived with at least 1 filter defective as the filter material was not in the filter but on the bottom of the bag. At $3 per filter and 1 filter per bottle, a broken filter is not acceptable. The Üllo filtration system is used to remove sulphides from wines and appears to work but appears to be expensive. I'm allergic to sulfa chemicals and these filters seem to be working - no symptoms after drinking about 5 bottles of wine. If you like wine but need to get rid of sulfides, you can…

You will never drink the same wine again!

These things change lives! I know it sounds dramatic, but seriously, they mean so much. My husband and our friends convinced me that it was all "placebo" and that my lack of headaches was just in my head. Let me tell you that one night my Ullo wasn't clean so I just drank a few glasses of wine without filtering it and the next day I was UNHAPPY. You'd think I ripped the whole town to pieces last night with a headache. Now I just skip the wine if my Ullo isn't clean, which is very important to…

Amazing Product in Wine Making

I originally found this product at Costco and bought it as a Father's Day gift for my wine snob husband. He drinks only the best wine and wears every outfit known to man. But it came out and I was like, well, he didn't. I didn't care if it would work (to be honest :) it was something he didn't have. It turns out this is one of his favorite wine toys! It makes his amazing wine taste even better! I think it will blow him as much as me. In any case, if you have any doubts about this product, do…

Expensive but reliable

This is a great product for the wine lover with a headache. Even some good wines have too much sulfite in it, so this was very beneficial for my husband and I. In this case, use 1 filter for each bottle of wine. This can get expensive, and no matter who you buy additional filters from, they're always over $30 for a pack of 10 filters. There is a problem with the "sand" in the filters. There may be a film residue in the wine after filtration, but this can be avoided by rinsing the filter with a…

Can't drink wine without it

My husband gave me the whole set after I had a couple of wine hangovers. I was surprised it actually worked. No more headaches or hangovers, and now I know when I'm in a restaurant or someone's house drinking unfiltered wine. I ALWAYS have a headache, it's terrible. But at home I can't drink a Cabernet without it! Absolutely worth the price. However, this does not work for some wines. When we have guests and they use it for their sweeter wines like Moscato, I find it doesn't work. It will just…

Doesn't just work for wine!

I love wine but like many others I get terrible migraines. American red wines (and countries like Australia and Chile that are happily sold in American markets) are aged in oak casks, giving them an oak flavor and extra sulphites, which is why. California Pinot Noir is particularly bad! European reds (French, Greek or Italian) don't age with extra oak so they don't bother me, but finding good wine in my area isn't always easy. We've moved from the city to the country (not even an entire liquor…

  • I'm worried

After carefully researching hangover product options for wine, I decided to buy Ullo filters (I decided to just buy replacement filters, as I saw another comment about using a funnel instead of buying an expensive and difficult to use device for them which was much cheaper and easier). For a hangover I say HANDS DOWN, this product WORKS. We've used the filter on a variety of different wine bottles ($10-$50) and haven't had a hangover every time we've used it (we drank the bottles non-stop to…
