Will not fall apart like a rubber sanding block. It delivers a firm, flat, and even print without digging or leaving marks like softwood or synthetic sanding blocks. If you want professional results for years to come, use cork. I still have some from my great-grandfather's shop. In use for over 150 years, only had to be converted twice. I still use them. These are generational tools for life, and they can be shaped to custom grind a casting and hold that shape for decades.
