Works well - easy to use

This is my first Moisture Meter so I don't have a comparison but I'm very happy with it. I use it to test my firewood to see if it's ready to burn. Seems to be very well built. You have to push with a bit of force to get the teeth into the wood and I was a little worried these little pins might be brittle but they aren't. They are solid and the case seems to do the job. I've experimented with this a bit - I've tested a piece of wood and then left it indoors for a while and every time I've tested it again the humidity has dropped as you imagined. I like the fact that it turns itself off if I forget. A small unexpected feature is a beep indicating the humidity level. If the level is really low, a slow beep will sound. Then when you rise moisture, it will beep faster. The limit for combustible wood is 20%, and if the device measures more than 20%, it beeps fairly quickly. I love that he says "This wood isn't ready yet!". I should also mention that the readings I'm getting are consistent with what I'm seeing when burning wood. When I measure a piece, say 18%, it lights up immediately and burns with no steam or hiss. If I measure one at 22% there will be some steam and hiss after I put it on the fire. It comes with a 9V battery and I was happy to see that it was an alkaline battery which should last a while. It looks like most things that come with batteries are as cheap as can be - that was a pleasant surprise.
