Review on ACDelco 18J382956 Professional Brake Hydraulic by Clayton Morris

Will NOT fit without DIY

Clearly visible on packaging 'AC Delco, Detroit, MI'. The fine print of the "Made in China" part label itself. This was the first indication of a problem. 1) Note that this part does NOT come with a banjo bolt that goes from the caliper to the main line and a spring clip that holds the other end to the body mount. So keep your old ones. . However, there were 2 copper disks, so I was able to get them to work. DO NOT cut your old spring clip, it's very difficult to pull it out intact, but make sure you can reuse it. 2) While the individual components were well done, the builds had a few major issues. As you probably know, these "rubber" lines are extremely rigid, so the orientation of the end pieces relative to each other (the position of the watch on the tube) is critical, you can't just twist them like a pretzel. But the part I received had the bracket bent 90° in the wrong position in relation to the caliper mount and the end of the body bracket was offset 60°. This forced me to 'open' the bracket as carefully as possible with a hammer and cold chisel, as well as manually file the end fitting on the body side so I could attach it to the truck. If you look closely at the bracket, you'll notice that not only does the end have a regular hex that fits the bracket, but one of the corners should be missing. So 15 minutes with a hand file and a few trial adjustments and I was able to adjust it. Overall, about $21 was a great deal instead of $55-$160 for a dealer part, but what are you saving on? to the cost you pay for non-US content and poor quality control. can you make it work YES. Does it feel like it's made out of quality materials that should last for years? YES. Can you count on dropping this part right away without the mess and fuss? NO WAY. Plan accordingly if you're up to the challenge.
