I like the weight, the feel of the handle, the bowl. You can "roll" your ice cream or dig deep and swirl and you've got the perfect spoon - you'll learn how to make it small or big yourself. I had an ice cream scoop in the same shape about 25 years ago, but the bowl was slightly larger. It was strong but the handle was a bit big. I never realized it was cast aluminum (or whatever) covered in chrome paint. More recently, after 25 happy years, it began to peel off, then the pits, then the edges fell off - it was a certain marriage. I've searched everywhere for months and looked at many reviews. There are two left and based on product features (stainless steel, one-piece body, soft touch) and reviews, I chose Balci. I definitely made the right choice and personally I couldn't have given a better review. It's so well made, of such high quality, I don't think it will last much longer than my 25 year old original. (By the way, I've had a lot of bad reviews on this original, mostly due to pitting, peeling, and the fact that the handle, which is a separate piece, broke off. I got lucky with that.) It's very difficult to find a company at where quality comes first. from their list - I think Balci does. What does every customer want to hear? . . You will not regret it.
