Required to support my latest graphics card. Have only heard good things and it was worth installing everything and making sure it works. But one problem was that my computer would start humming loudly when idle on the desktop with nothing running. I found a little-known resource on the internet that details how to change a registry key so that it doesn't contain this "empty" buzz. It was damn loud. After that perfect! No problem.
