Review on πŸ’‘ 5V Regulator - DROK 5pcs Mini Voltage Reducer DC 4.5-24V 12V 24V Step Down to 5V Buck Converter Board 3A Power Supply Module by Phil Morales

These things are tiny and work great. I particularly like the "Enable " function.

I bought this voltage reducer to power single wire devices in a project I am doing. I particularly liked the "Enable" function, as I wanted to remotely disable the single-wire bus. Works perfectly. I had some trouble with the first one because I wanted a fixed 3.3v output. When I tried to cut the trace and solder the 3.3v traces together my eyes just couldn't take the modification. So I used a potentiometer to manually adjust the voltage. Soldering the wire to the input and output pins is equally difficult visually. You really need some zoom to work on this module. I didn't have them then. I used a 1K pullup resistor connected to the Arduino's output pin to disable the converter's 3.3V output. Drag down to disable, drag up to enable. You can leave this converter pin blank if you don't need this function. There are five of these on the board, and you just break off the ones you need. No mounting holes so I just put silicone on the bottom and glued it to the case. You can get an idea of its tiny size by looking at the photo. It's a tiny piece glued to the center of the case. Case measures approximately 11 x 7 inches.

Pros
  • The built-in power on port sets the default working mode and turns off when the battery is low, which is very convenient for users. A NOTICE. This 5V buck converter is really tiny, each unit is less than half a dollar coin.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
