DO NOT BUY! Hinged

We bought a toy box my husband made for our children. First, the instructions in the box are TERRIBLE. We had to use other product reviews to figure out how to install it (and my husband is very handy at building). Once installed (with both) and trying different levels of tightness, the lid slammed shut. When we pushed it as hard as we could it stayed open and you had to push hard for it to start closing smoothly and then about halfway through it picked up speed and closed. Absolutely terrible. We are returning this product as it does not work.
