The quality of the tank is quite good. It lacks the internal filter screen of the original VW tank but has internal baffles. The big problem I have is that the fuel tank outlet and return ports are not in the right position compared to the stock VW tank. This causes severe glitches in the CIS fuel pump and requires me to completely relocate the pump. This can be a big headache if you are still using the original CIS fuel injection system and need to keep the stock pump and fuel accumulator. If you can move the fuel pump, use carbs and not a CIS fuel pump, or fit it to a Mk1 diesel, this tank should work just fine. If you're using the original CIS injection setting and don't want to change the default, find another tank.
