Review on ๐Ÿšฒ SYKIK Rider SRTP630: Tire Pressure Monitoring System for Trikes, CanAm, Spider, Harley Davidson, Goldwing by Ryan Morrow

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The design is bad but ok. I can live with that

Day 1. Just got three sensors and a SRTP-690 monitor. Now I do the setup before installing. I immediately realized that all sensor 2 and 3 settings MUST match. Damn! So you designed this product to only be used for hang gliders and not for sidecars? I have 3 different sidecar setups and NO ONE wants sensors 2 and 3 (rear tire and sidecar tire) to have the same parameters. But to be honest I don't use TPMS to get high or low pressure alerts. . I use them to get real-time pressure readings while driving. So when I mount it and ride it for a bit, I hope I'll remember to come back and end this review. Two stars for now (not one) because the setup procedure is fairly easy compared to other TPM tricycles I've used. Two days later - went for a ride. The RF transmitters in the sensors are activated by motion, so no readings are taken when the main unit is first turned on. Four minutes into my ride the #1 and #2 gauges were sending pressure readings and the readings were fairly accurate (tested on a Longacre Racing gauge). Sensor number 3 - nothing. Drove for 30 minutes and got no readout from #3. I'll order some new CR1225 batteries from Revain (10 for $6), install one in sensor #3, then ride again to see if that's the problem. Otherwise I'll contact Saiquik about the new sensor #3. Speaking of batteries, the main unit doesn't have an auto-shutoff, so consider turning it off manually when you're done driving. If you forget it, it's ok, it charges with a regular micro USB. I won't tell you how to mount the main unit - it will be different for different bikes - but I am using a 1" ram ball with a built in 1/4" camera mount. The 1/4" camera mount screws directly into the back of the SYKIK monitor, then I mounted the ram ball to my bike using standard ram accessories. to install if you haven't thrown away the round wrench that comes with the kit. Use your fingernail to pry off the bottom ring, then use the wrench to unscrew the sensor's waterproof cover. Push out the old battery and push it in. Use the round wrench to screw the cover back on and snap the bottom ring into place. Takes about 3 minutes? Installed my giant #3 sensor on the sidecar wheel, put it in gear, turned on the monitor, then rolled my sidecar out of the garage. Wow, I already got accurate readings from sensor #3! Fresh batteries clearly make a difference. minutes later. And I was still close by, so I hadn't hit 25 mph yet. about an hour away and the system was working great. The pressure rose by about 10% as the tires warmed up - perfectly normal and expected - then the pressure dropped when I stopped to refuel (around 40 degrees ambient). Have fun test driving! Finally feeling good removing the protective film from the front of the monitor. Increase my rating to 4 stars. My suggestion: if you want to order this system, order a strip of CR1225 batteries at the same time and install them before installing the sensors. Also make sure you have carbide valve stems in all three corners of your setup. This applies to any TPMS system that uses external sensors.
