The reviews I've read about it are mostly true - the instructions are terrible. Photos are blurry, small and missing steps in the process. I had to skim some because the directions were so bad. In addition, wooden parts do not always fit together. It turned out to be cute in the end, but if this was my first DIY dollhouse experience I'd quit and play tennis. It took me about two weeks for an hour or so a night. You should really get your own paint - the amount they give you barely covers it and it's crappy paint. Also, I bought brick wallpaper to paint the outside because I ran out of the extra paint I bought. I also use my own 3-in-1 glue and Fiskars micro-tip scissors for fabrics that tend to fray.
