Cellophane - Beautiful 3rd album!

Please note that this review is for the release of "Cellophane" with 12 different bonus tracks (not "Mixed Bag"). The Troggs of the 1960s can hardly be described as an album group. However, they released some pretty solid albums for Fontana/Page One in the 60's. 1967's Cellophane, their third album, includes the classic single "Love is All Around" and other great Reg Presley compositions such as "All of the Time", "It's Snowing" and "My Lady". Reg Presley had a rare talent for writing catchy rockers and catchy ballads. This CD release provides excellent examples of both types. The overall impression of the album compared to its predecessor "Trogglodynamite" is that it is calmer and more melodic. The bonus tracks are the A and B sides of singles released in 1969-70; None of them were big hits and some of them are pretty obscure. Few of them live up to the standards of the best songs on the original album. Tracks like "I Don't Know Why", "Easy Lovin'", "The Raver" and "Anything For You" are great additions to a very good album.
