I ordered this toy for my golden retriever puppy who was 8 months old at the time of purchase. He comes to work with me every day & had a bad habbit of chewing at the wheels & other hard plastic parts of our office chairs. This toy is made of similar material & seems to help curb the inappropriate chewing. He does still occasionally chew at the chairs but I think he does it, now, because he knows he will get our attention.The down side is that the plastic does flake off, as he chews, & I'm sure he's ingesting some of it. I normally wouldn't buy toys like this but I needed something to redirect his chewing. I had already tried anti-lick/chew sprays & even hot sauce, which he just licked up like it was nothing. This was sort of a last resort & it worked, more or less.This is one of his favorite toys, after his tennis balls, & he will sit quietly for a while & chew on this. It's been a little over 6 months & the toy is pretty worn down & rough in texture. I'll be ordering a new one soon.
