Excellent image quality with very useful software

I'm a university professor and needed a curved widescreen monitor to better manage my writing projects and online video conferencing. This monitor is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but for the money I think it's quite good. It has amazing color quality and is extremely sharp. I can open multiple documents and also use most of my screen for Zoom meetings or Google Hangouts with students. The Dell Display Manager software greatly increases the usefulness of this monitor and is one of the factors that closed the deal for me. With a screen this big, it's important to have a way to organize all that screen real estate. DDM software allows you to split the screen into predefined or custom grids and then simply drag and drop programs and files into the grid. I have grids that I use for video conferencing, research and writing projects, and so on. My only caveat is that if I'm not mistaken there isn't a Mac OS version of the DDM software, which is a real shame for Mac users who might consider this excellent monitor. If you use a new generation Dell laptop like I do, the monitor doubles as a docking station. My Latitude E7490 has USB-C ports for video, charging and USB ports. This means I just plug one cable from the monitor to the laptop and it takes care of all the charging and power needs of the laptop and also connects me to my keyboard, mouse, webcams, speakers and any other peripherals that stay connected with Plenty of Monitor USB- Connections. In fact, I have a small USB hub connected to the monitor, further increasing the port count. It's really nice that I don't have to plug and unplug a bunch of stuff every time I need to set up my laptop for home office use. You can also connect two different computers to the monitor and then switch between the computers. I didn't need this feature so I haven't tried it yet. It might not be the best monitor for gaming as it doesn't offer insanely high refresh rates, although it seems so from some of the reviews I've read. good enough in this category. But I'm not a gamer and use it almost exclusively for text functions. I can say that it works great with videos like YouTube and Revain Prime. And the colors are amazingly vibrant. Built-in speakers are no fun. They are weak and somewhat cloudy. I use a set of external speakers anyway, so that doesn't concern me. But don't expect much from them. The display settings are easy enough to use, if a little fiddly. But with the Dell Display Manager software (mentioned above), brightness and contrast controls, as well as the main picture modes for color presets, are easily accessible via a software shortcut. In any case, these are the only settings I regularly adjust. All in all a great monitor and I would buy it again.
