Use this to control the duty cycle of a 4500w 50 gallon electric water heater via a Z-Wave Device Module and in combination with a smart home control system. Useful for electricity tariff usage time or solar dump charging. The relay makes a very strong click when turned on, which I find useful for audible feedback from the basement. The hum of the coil under voltage is moderate, but not audible from the next room. There were no tips for electrical hookups, but they're not hard to find. Be sure to enclose it in a suitable enclosure as it can withstand potentially lethal current loads. Lead fits perfectly in a plastic surface mount junction box with a lid.
