Review on Knipex Tools 13 82 8: 6-in-1 Electrical Installation Pliers - Comfort Grip, Red & Blue | Efficient Multi-functional Tool by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 4 out of 5

reamer + hole punch + good wire cutters

I have both; and Klein J206-8C. The first thing that struck me about them is the excellent steel - they shoot and cut very well. Absolutely no wear and tear. This is my go-to tool for working with cutouts, lights, and pipes. They aren't that handy for stripping since they don't have a 10 AWG wire stripper. (My little ones all had squeegees, but they didn't come off as cleanly as these.) When they arrived, they were and still are tough, even after being properly lubricated. I love it when the pliers open by themselves and I'm used to Knipex of the highest quality. It let me down but now after giving me a little warning they are ok. The ergonomics of the grip were also rather odd to grip compared to the Klein. I haven't had occasions where the difference in profile matters too much as I mainly use them as punches, reamers, strips, routers, fine grapples. I'm more used to it, but I don't like the ergonomics. I would give it 5 stars if it had a 10 AWG puller and different ergonomics on the handles. Otherwise I'll grab it when I get a chance.

Pros
  • needle nose pliers
Cons
