In fact, you don't miss a single caliber at all. 12 and 14 AWG are the most common gauges, so it makes sense that if you only have two you would include them. This tool has replaced my cutting pliers as well as my wire stripper and needle for most uses. Like everything else I've used under the Knipex name, this is a very high quality tool, the handles are comfortable and the swivel fits me right out of the box. I've found the wire cutter jaw works very well for stripping the jacket of 14-4 flat wire. When properly pushed and twisted, it cuts the sheathing evenly, leaving the conductor insulation intact. I have both; and Klein J206-8C. The first thing that struck me about them is the excellent steel - they shoot and cut very well. Absolutely no wear and tear. This is my go-to tool for working with cutouts, lights, and pipes. They aren't that handy for stripping since they don't have a 10 AWG wire stripper. Like all Knipex tools I own, this is another fine example of quality craftsmanship. That being said I was hoping it would replace my 28 year old Ideal pliers in my tool bag. When I got the tool, I pulled out a couple of crimping tools for a test run before blindly pulling my old crimping tools out of my tool bag.
