Review on 💡 F106SX: Next-Gen Fumoto Valve featuring 14mm-1.5 Thread Size by George Sullivan

I've been changing the oil in my cars for over 20 years. I installed a Fumoto drain on my 2010 Silverado last year. Conclusion: I like it, but it could be better. building at height. I'm not worried about leaks. Although the final alignment was perfect, with my Silverado I would be forced to misplace it if it was upside down (not a big deal, but kind of a PITA). As it turns out, the drain I installed on my truck drains water *slowly*. For example, what took about 10 minutes with a factory drain plug probably took 30-35 minutes with Fumoto. Fast forward to that and I decided to spend the money and buy another Fumoto for our Honda Pilot as I expect this thing to be sitting in our garage for a long time. I installed the F106SX yesterday and am very impressed. The design is equally good compared to the previous style. Orientation is no longer a problem as you can rotate it 360 degrees. It also seems to drain much quicker, although I'm not sure how much quicker since most of the oil had already drained out when I installed it and then opened it up. If you're in the DIY oil change business and expect to have your car for a while, consider Fumoto. It's not about saving money - you can buy a truckload of washing machines for $35. The fact that it IS is very convenient: no interchangeable washers, no interchangeable o-rings, no need to remember what size keys or sockets to run under the car. It also simplifies the management of the initial flush, meaning you don't have a 2-foot spray of oil splattering everywhere and no drain plug in the oil pan. (Can you tell I've been doing this for a while?) And for my clumsy mechanic friends, don't worry about removing the drain plug threads. Install this and you're done.
