First things first, I was hesitant to buy a battery powered blower. Most of the ones that I have seen in the past are ineffective at anything but sweeping hard surfaces. I have a Ryobi 18 volt that I use to sweep the patio and walks. It's utterly useless on the lawn. I have been using Toro Super Blowers for years. They are practically disposable at this point. I had to buy a new one every year or repair the impeller throughout the year (no leaf grinding performed). They just don't last anymore and handling the 100 ft cord was a pain. I was ready to finally purchase a backpack blower to gain some mobility and convenience but didn't want "yet another gas tool” to have to maintain. I tested out a neighbors Snapper 82-volt lawn mower a year ago and immediately purchased one for myself. Great for my little quarter acre yard and works effectively on all things EXECEPT a wet lawn. So quiet and no gas! So, onto the actual point of this diatribe… with the two 82v 2.0 batteries in hand from the mower I took the chance on the blower figuring that it’s 125 bucks and I could return it if it was junk. My god this blower is powerful. I mean like powerful like a gas blower. It’s still very loud (96db), so ear protection is still in order. I rotate batteries so there is always one on the charger. They charge in around 20 - 25 min. I get about 18 to 20 minutes of full power blowing out of each battery. Not great, but certainly enough for me and my yard. If I am using the mower at the same time, I will have to wait a bit for the charging to catch up. It’s better then dealing with gas all the time. The blower is not heavy, but I wouldn’t consider it light with the battery in it. It’s easy to swing back and forth for leaves and debris. Nice speed control and a handy lock on the switch to alleviate any finger fatigue when using for long periods. They make a higher end model that functions more like a backpack with the battery slung over the shoulder. I would recommend that, but it’s ridiculously expensive, like 450 bucks, but it has a 4.0 battery which will last longer and have more power. So, in a nutshell, this blower works great. I use it to clean my gutters and all the general yard work. I use it to dry off my car too, which is impressive. I have since ordered a third battery (150 bucks) to make the process smoother. Keep in mind that this is a Global Tools product in Snapper clothing… I have seen the Lowes "Cobalt” and Greenworks versions too. Food for thought the batteries are not interchangeable between models without modification, but the tools are all the same. Happy Blowing (ehem…)!
