I'm not sure if I received a defective product or if it's normal quality, but I'm not happy with my purchase. At first glance it looks good and looks like it will work well. But there are also obvious shortcomings. First off, the adapter's input connector on the back appears to be bent and disconnected. It still worked, but it's a bad build for me. As it bends over time, it will not work properly. Second, when you insert a pencil, there's a nice sharp point, but it doesn't have a stop, so it'll keep eating your pencil unless you're an adult with enough common sense to take it out about 8 seconds after it's sharpened . But children don't all have the same train of thought, so many of my child's pens are already half used up, as are cigarette butts. Finally, art pencils with clear plastic or designs, like many children's pencils, will get stuck in the sharpening mechanism, causing your pencil to fail to sharpen properly. You have to go there and get everything out. It also leads to over-sharpening, turning your pencil into a lead. I would not buy this product again and would not recommend it until these construction and design flaws are corrected.
