I use these things every week! The lids are flimsy and loose, but that's just part of the silicone ice trays they're not designed to seal. I don't mind because I can stack these trays on top of each other without sticking together. I always use a small casserole dish to put them in, fill the mold with it, and then put it in the freezer so everything stays even. You can put them in the freezer without this, but it's a lot harder not to spill. Sure, they're not as strong as plastic ice cube trays, but they also don't become brittle or crack over time. Getting ice cubes from them is much easier than from plastic. The only thing I don't like is that they tend to absorb odors. I often use them for chicken broth and it's very hard to get rid of the smell. They don't seem to soak up with the food I put on the tray afterwards, but it's a little frustrating when you wash them 3 times with Dawn on it and every time you put them in the cupboard they still smell like chicken . . But I've had this problem with plastic too, so I think it's an issue with ice trays across the board.
