I have decided to give a final evaluation. The opinion of my eight-year-old diva. I have a ceramic rectifier that I need to replace a long time ago. I use it for special occasions (you know, things unrelated to grocery stores or whatever) and it doesn't flow smoothly through my hair so I bought this to replace. I have an 8 year old girl with long, blonde, curly/wavy hair who thinks she should have straight hair. Many evenings are spent begging me to straighten her hair (it's 2nd grade, I have no idea why it's so important, but it's been since the good times!). So last night I pulled out this straightener to try them on (who knows when). could be the next exciting trip that will result in me needing hair straightening. I have some parent/teacher conferences for my kids in 2 weeks that would probably qualify, may seem more unusual. It has an "electronic screen" (which pretends to display the temperature on a small grayish screen with a rudimentary calculator that looks like numbers that always sound the same), and this New York glossy has a small rotating dial (I could also add that my old one goes up to 370°, this knob goes up to 425°), also my old one has a button on the side to turn it on (which usually had to be pressed a couple of times to turn it on), while this one has an on/off/shutdown switch. So I set about smoothing down my daughter's thick hair that reaches down the middle of her back. I will say that even SHE at 8 (she turned 8 two weeks ago) noticed that this one is hotter than the old one, so it's definitely reaching the promised temperature. I straightened her hair and let her look into the full length mirror. She was DEFINITELY a fan! She couldn't tell exactly what it was, but she went on to say that her hair looked straight, had no flyaways and it looked so soft, shiny and perfect. She then tried to convince me that my old one was working fine and that I should give her this one lol (she doesn't even do her hair? But she wanted it for herself!). So in the end my eight year old daughter could tell a big difference in her slightly coarse curly/wavy long hair. I can't wait to see how it does with my shoulder length, medium thick, fairly straight (I straighten for straight) hair. I would definitely recommend this and can safely say that when it comes to something as important as your hair, you are definitely worth the few extra bucks to get quality. I know my previous hair straightener was between $15 and $20. Our hair is one of our main statements and the first thing people see and want it to look its best, as I learned from this wonderful hair straightener, it definitely pays to make the right choice, a choice based on quality , not at the cheapest price. . Also, it seems like it's going to take a long time! Thanks for showing me the way to better hair!
